Sanchez’s first three years IDENTICAL to Eli’s

We’ve been through this before but now it’s just freaky. And this absolutely DOES NOT mean that Sanchez is going to progress into an elite QB as Eli did (at age 30, mind you). But it sure doesn’t mean he cannot, either. The key for Eli was getting a new offensive coordinator, which hits the reset button.

Eli Manning QB Rating 2004-2006: 72.3
Mark Sanchez QB Rating 2009-2011: 72.3

Will have more on this later, but the problem I see with Sanchez is a lack of confidence in himself and his receivers. Did you see that bomb that Eli threw to Victor Cruz with the game hanging in the balance versus the Cowboys? Cruz was covered. But Eli was not afraid of making a mistake. He figured, “One-on-one, Cruz will win.” And the wide receivers win a lot because of the corners could play the ball, they’d be wide receivers. This problem can be fixed in an instant or never at all but it’s the difference between being mediocre and very good-to-great.
